Position Highlights
Arizona Space Institute (UASI) at the University of Arizona is in search of an ARB Systems Testing Lead. This position will provide technical management of the ARB test systems, specifically the thermal vac chamber, and required work to complete certification. Post certification, the position will interact with customers and develop and execute Thermal Vacuum testing plans. The position will also support the cleanrooms operated at the ARB and the Advanced Manufacturing activities at the ARB including operations of the metallic atomizer that produces powder for the 3-D printing systems.
This position is subject to federal ITAR/EAR regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities:
- T-VAC support, working with UASI employees on installing and verifying the performance of TVAC components, including but not limited to vacuum systems, cooling systems, heating systems, temperature/pressure monitoring systems, and any other systems.
- Technician should be comfortable with vacuum systems and hardware in general, and be able to problem solve.
- Cleanroom operations support and other ARB test systems, including anechoic chamber, vibe table, mission operations, and Advanced Manufacturing. Operations of the materials atomizer located at the ARB.
- Tasks include interfacing and coordinating with customers, scheduling system runs, system operations training, and operating the atomizer.
- Additional duties may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent professional communications skills.
- Ability to develop complex test plans, task staff on the execution of the test plans.
- Creative thinking skills and ability to perform root-cause analysis under high-pressure scenarios.
- Knowledge of operations of small and large cryogenic vacuum systems and working experience troubleshooting vacuum systems. This would include using He leak checking equipment and the processes employed in leak checking vacuum systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience
- 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cleanroom operations and protocols.
- Experience with cryogenic operations and safe handling protocols.
- Experience managing cleanrooms and other research laboratories.
- Experience with customer interactions including requirements capture and conducting tests.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses. These reports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
