Job Description:

Function of Position:

Coordinator reports directly to the Director, Student Services at DC and is responsible for the leadership, planning and organization of transitional college experience program that serve individuals with disabilities. The Coordinator acts as a liaison throughout college offices and external partners on agreement development and indirect supervision of students.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a liaison between program, partners, academic departments, and college offices to manage partnership agreements and student enrollment details and staff onboardings and lead, when appropriate partner staff on program design and evaluation, student enrollment, retention, and completion
  • Develop specific academic program pathways and determine appropriate courses for student enrollment in conjunction with academic services and partners
  • Assist with Pathway advisement for students
  • Advise the overseeing administrative staff of development, direction, growth, and sustainability plans
  • Coordinate all on-campus internships for students, campus activities and college-wide program participation
  • Coordinate Human Services peer mentor support
  • Manage multiple budgets, spending, and year end reconciliation and make recommendations for future partnership consideration
  • Lead and plan Leadership Team meetings
  • Communicate program overview to college community
  • Serve as advisor or co-advisor of the disability awareness student club
  • Recommend policies, procedures, and practices for consideration
  • Manage all marketing materials and website communication
  • Represents the program and the College on related consortiums and advisory boards and at local and state meetings
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the administrative supervisor
This is a part-time, temporary position*

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:
  • Earned bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited higher education institution
  • Awareness of disability support services
  • Experience in academic program development and assessment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Awareness of disability support services

  • Earned master's degree from a regionally-accredited higher education institution
  • Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently
Additional Information:

Salary: Salary is determined based on experience, internal equity and college budget. This position has a range of $28.57 to $30.99 and is based on these mentioned factors.

Schedule: Part-time

MCC offers a Flexible Work Policy for benefit eligible employees. Types of flexible work arrangements include flextime/staggered shifts, remote work/telecommuting and compressed work schedule. The availability of flexible work arrangements varies by division, department, and position, based upon business and operational needs. Limitations to flexible work arrangements are outlined in the official policy.

Prohibition of Remote Work Outside New York State: Remote work locations outside New York State are not authorized by the College due to out-of-state tax and regulatory implications. In limited circumstances, prompted by business or operational needs, the College may approve requests to work remotely outside of New York State, on a short term, temporary basis.
