Job Description
The Director of Sports Performance is responsible for the oversight and daily operations of the Strength and Conditioning program with Kansas City Athletics.
Duties include but are not limited to:
* program design, guiding student-athletes through a regimen of exercises to optimize performance and decrease injury potential;
* assisting with the oversight of sport-specific conditioning programs;
* teaching proper weight-lifting, speed, agility, and conditioning techniques;
* encouraging and motivating student-athletes to train and perform to their utmost potential, scheduling athletic teams and supervising workouts of student-athletes;
* player development and assisting in the implementation of rehab and reconditioning programs prescribed by the doctors and Sports Medicine staff.
* Working in a team-oriented environment, the position will work with other Strength and Conditioning staff, sport coaches, athletic trainers and other athletic department personnel to develop comprehensive strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programs for student-athletes.
Some weekend and holiday work may be required based on specific sport seasons and team travel. The candidate will ensure compliance with NCAA, Summit League Conference, and University of Missouri-Kansas City regulations.
Coach, motivate, and design strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programs for assigned sports. Communicate with supervisor, sport coaches and Sports Medicine Staff and assist with on-campus recruiting for assigned sports.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in related/relevant area and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
$52,916 to $70,500 commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.

- Two to three years' experience in developing and implementing weight training programs is necessary.
- CSCS, SCCC, or NASM certification. CPR/AED certification.
- Master's Degree in Physical Education or related area is preferred.
- General nutrition background.
