Position Summary
The Program Supervisor will be be responsible for organizing, overseeing aquatic programming at SUNY Cortland. This will include (but not limited to) learn to swim classes for the general public, lifeguard training classes, water safety instructor classes, or other activities related to water safety (including a water safety symposium, designed to bring together aquatic professionals).What makes SUNY Cortland a great place to work?

Major Responsibilities
Organizing, supervising, recruiting for participants, staff for programs. Opening, closing and supervising facilities that are being used for programming. Administrative work (tracking of participants and course records) as needed.Functional and Supervisory Relationships
The individuals hired will report directly to the head swimming and diving coach, who is administering the grant. Swim instructors, lifeguards will report directly to these supervisors as well.Required Qualifications
- Current certification as recognized by New York State in Lifeguarding and CPR/AED.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a lifeguard, and/or water safety educator.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lifeguard Instructor certification
- Water safety educator certification as recognized by New York State.
- Previous supervisory experience of aquatic programs.
