Position Highlights

The R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy is inviting qualified applicants to apply for the position of Research Technician I in the lab of Dr. Yin Chen in the department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. Join a NIH funded research laboratory specialized in molecular/cellular biology and pathophysiology of lung diseases. The Research Technician hired into this role will work closely with research scientists and graduate students on various exciting translational research projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Cell experiments: Cell culture, PCR, western blot, transfection, transduction.
  • With guidance from senior level researchers, prepare Animal model experiments: Mouse Colony maintenance, fungal and viral infection, mouse tissue harvest, pathology and molecular analysis.
  • Assist team with general lab maintenance included ordering supplies and shipping/receiving materials from collaborating labs.
  • Assist team with general admin support such as scheduling meetings, filing records, cleaning lab as needed.
  • Assist senior researchers with data analysis after collecting data from preformed experiments including recording data, compiling basic notes from experiment outcomes, and observing the use of Prism and MS Excel.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of laboratory research.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above in biomedical related disciplines preferred.
  • At least 1 year laboratory research experience in related field preferred.
  • Experience in Prism and MS Excel preferred.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
