Job Description

The Financial Records and Acquisitions Specialist is responsible for entering purchase requisitions and check requests for all library purchases, internally tracking book expenditures by budget and subject disciplines, ordering books, ebooks, supplies, and other materials, processing physical items for the collections, digitizing materials in the Archives & Special Collections, serving at the Librarys circulation desk, and assisting the Director of the Library with various reporting and administrative tasks.

Job Duties
  • Promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students and to the community at large;
  • promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff, and students
  • participate on University committees
  • enter purchase requisitions, review invoices, and enter check requests for all library purchases; calculate portion of costs to be applied to each budget year for annual subscriptions;
  • order books, ebooks, and supplies, and other materials as needed
  • maintain acquisitions accounting information in the integrated library system; internally track book/ebook expenditures by budget line and subject discipline;
  • review travel approval and travel expense reports prior to the Director of Library s review;
  • search for bibliographic records in the library s cataloging system
  • produce labels using the automated cataloging system;
  • process materials for shelving;
  • maintain the supplies inventory
  • assist the Director of the Library in collecting data for the IPEDS survey and for budget projections;
  • In collaboration with the Director of the Library or designee, administer the LibQual Survey, a multi-step process of gathering data, coordinating scheduling the survey with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, and registering with the Association of Research Libraries which offers the survey;
  • assist at the Circulation Desk
  • perform opening and closing library tasks when scheduled;
  • perform a variety of activities related to digitization processes and other archival tasks, as assigned;
  • generally work a Tuesday through Saturday schedule
  • assist the Director of the Library with collecting data for required institutional, program accreditation and other reports necessary for the operation and advancement of University programs, both on campus and at extended campus sites;
  • perform other duties as assigned; and
  • maintain strict confidentiality regarding library patron records and other University matters.
