Academic Department Administrator:
The Administrator assists the Chairs and Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer in the operations and strategic planning of the departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery as it relates to budget planning, fiscal and resource planning/administration, human resource utilization, policy administration, and coordination and negotiation of activities with other university departments and administration.
Specific Job-Related Duties Include:
- Human resources, administrative operations, and policy administration.
- Business strategic planning, budgeting, and financial management.
- Clinical, Education and Research activities.
- Service delivery and quality improvement.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism and competence in dealing with leadership at various levels and university administrators.
- Ability to develop, organize, and accomplish goals.
- Ability to analyze/evaluate data and make appropriate decisions/recommendations.
- Preparation and analysis of operating budgets.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
Position Requirements:
- A master's degree in business, healthcare, or related field plus eight (8) years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous leadership experience in a public academic medical school environment.
- Experience working in a matrix reporting environment.
