Location
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
Assists in managing space planning initiatives and facility projects across the University. Engages with the campus community and space planning committees to optimize existing space and support the needs of students, faculty, and staff. Leads special initiatives, coordinates cross-functional teams, and represents the Office of Planning, Design, and Construction on committees assigned by the Executive Director of Space Administration.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Facilitates daily space management operations by addressing stakeholder requests in alignment with KSU's strategic and master plans
2. Engages regularly with Deans, Department Directors, Vice Presidents, and other leaders to coordinate and conduct internal and external surveys, gathering essential planning and programming data from sources such as user interviews, space surveys, and benchmarking studies
3. Reviews space data and utilization reports to support informed decision-making.
4. Updates the space database manager as needed to reflect changes in room use or renovations, ensuring accurate coding of all academic space types
5. Collaborates with campus planners on projects to support university space management and campus planning initiatives
6. Works closely with Academic Affairs and Enrollment Services, providing expertise on academic space inventory and requirements
7. Prepares presentation materials for monthly SPWG meetings and quarterly Executive Group sessions and records and distributes meeting minutes
8. Ensures completion of follow-up tasks and tracks actions related to the space governance process
9. Manages coordination and communication of classroom maintenance work and upgrades with key stakeholders, including the Registrar, Colleges, UITS, EVM, and Door Access teams
10. Drafts space allocation letters to document and notify units of changes in space assignments
11. Assists stakeholders in transitioning from space allocation to project or move planning
12. Conducts research, gathers data upon request, and performs physical space audits as needed
13. Provides high-level customer service support for the space planning process and department leadership
14. Develops standards and guidelines for space policies and procedures, consults with other institutions to establish best practices, and promotes uniform space utilization standards across the university
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field
Required Experience
Seven (7) years of experience managing multiple projects, including facilities planning and design, master planning, and space planning
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Preferred Experience
Prior experience with planning or space management within a college or university
Proposed Salary
The midpoint of the salary range is $96,000. Offers are based on relevant experience.
