Position Highlights

We are seeking a versatile and dynamic Recruitment Coordinator to join our team to support undergraduate recruitment, and student facing activities. This person would help coordinate and participate in recruitment activities in the office of recruitment and engagement and participate in the planning and execution of multiple student-facing events. We seek an individual with a high degree of professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a collaborative environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director in coordinating and conducting College Information Sessions for prospective students and guests.
  • Assists in planning and carry out VIP visits and tours for prospective students and their families with the Director.
  • Represents the College of Science at high school visits/fairs working with the Director to schedule using existing contacts and information script.
  • Assists the Director with planning of events and ceremonies including winter and spring convocations, the new student welcome event, winter and spring undergraduate award ceremonies, spring graduate award ceremony, and others as needed.
  • Assists with ADH Calendaring and meeting planning.
  • Maintains a steady flow of routine communication with prospective students.
  • Supports the Director with training and coordinating student Science Ambassadors.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):

  • Presentation and public speaking Skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills to provide tailored experiences for prospective students and families.
  • Adept with Microsoft Office suite and virtual tools/resources.
  • Skills in creating social media content & in multimedia technology.
  • Excellent use of time management and organizational tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to present a professional demeanor and pride in representing the University of Arizona.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with various audiences.
  • Desire to provide professional development and leadership opportunities for science students.
  • Ability to works weekends, evenings, and travels locally periodically.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree related to job requirements and 1 year of experience in student recruitment, event management (small and large scale), and/or program coordination in higher education.
  • Ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the University of Arizona, College of Science departments and outreach/research facilities
  • Experience collaborating with various UA departments/units.
  • Experience in providing student services for high school/college students in public education.
  • Experience collaborating with faculty, staff and community partners.
  • Event management and coordination experience (small and large scale).

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses. These reports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
