Job Description
Reporting to the Safety Programs Manager, the EHSS Technician supports environmental health and safety programs.
Key Responsibilities
You must submit your CV/resume, cover letter, and list of three (3) professional references, including current contact information. This position will remain open until it is filled; however, priority consideration will be given to applications received on or before July 2, 2025. Salary will be between $50,000 - $55,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience. Job Description
Reporting to the Safety Programs Manager, the EHSS Technician supports environmental health and safety programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation, review and evaluation of environmental health, safety and sustainability programs, plans and procedures
- Draft professional reports with findings and corrective actions
- Utilize continuous improvement principles in all EHSS responsibilities
- Cultivate a positive culture of safety by role modeling safe behavior and a demonstrated commitment to safety
- Respond to off-hours emergencies
- Support operations in Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability by assisting with special projects, recordkeeping, training and marketing
- Assists with hazardous waste removals
- Conducts inspections
- Assists with instrument calibration
- Conduct regular assessments of worksite environments to identify potential safety hazards
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university (In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, a minimum six years combined education, training, and experience may be considered)
- Successful candidates must be able to wear an air-purifying respirator, lift 50 pounds, transport drums weighing 450 pounds using a drum hand truck and have a valid driver's license.
- Position requires after-hours emergency responses.
- Experience in environmental health and safety
- Experience in a college or university setting
