Temporary Landscape Worker - Jackson's Mill - Division for Land-Grant Engagement
The Division for Land-Grant Engagement at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Temporary Landscape Worker at Jackson's Mill. This temporary position located at Jackson's Mill in Weston WV will provide support to the facilities unit by providing grounds maintenance during a high-volume season.
What you'll do:
- General grounds maintenance (mowing, weed eating, leaf raking).
- Pick up trash around the grounds and buildings.
- Light carpentry duties and ditch work.
- Painting and associated maintenance work such as scraping paint.
- Move equipment, furnishings, supplies, etc.
- Maintain clean work area by removing construction debris.
- Basic maintenance such as changing light bulbs and receptacle covers.
Pay Grade:
Length of Assignment: 5 Months
Work Hours: 37.5 Hours per week
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED - Vocational training in relevant field preferred. Up to 6 months education beyond high school in related field (carpentry, equipment operation, building trades)
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience operating groundskeeping equipment
- A minimum of three (3) months of Lawn Maintenance/care experience
- Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
- All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.
