Job Description Summary:
Assistant to the director of the Neuromuscular Research Division, including scheduling and sending correspondence on behalf of the director and/or department. Compiles information, prepares reports, and is involved in implementing departmental policies.

The incumbent will provide administrative support to the Neuromuscular Research Division within the Neurology Department at KUMC. Tasks include event planning, coordinating travel arrangements, processing travel reimbursements, scheduling meetings, coordinating schedules, and purchasing supplies and materials.

Job Description:
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of the Neuromuscular Review Course meetings and events.
  • Make travel arrangements (including setting up travel company) and prepare and submit travel reimbursement requests in accordance with institutional policies and procedures.
  • Assist with scheduling for division director
  • Assist with updating CVs for physicians in the Neuromuscular Research Division
  • Order, track, and maintain office supplies for faculty and staff within the division
  • Process expense reports for faculty and staff within the division
  • Schedule meetings and coordinate schedules as needed
  • Plan and organize meals and other events for faculty and staff within the division

Required Qualifications

Education: Associate degree in business or a related field. Experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.

Work Experience: Two (2) years' related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.

Compensation Statement:

The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
