Financial Aid Communication Coordinator
Position Summary
The Financial Aid Communication Coordinator at Roosevelt University is a key member of the Financial Aid Services team, responsible for developing and managing strategic, student- and family-focused communications across multiple platforms.
This position supports Roosevelt's mission to provide accessible, inclusive education by ensuring students and their families receive clear, timely, and accurate information about financial aid processes, deadlines, and opportunities.
The coordinator oversees email outreach, website content, student forms, parent portal messaging, and general communications while working collaboratively with campus partners to enhance the overall student and family experience.

The salary range for this position is $45,000-$48,000

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations pertaining to financial aid funds for higher education
- Understanding of the financial aid application and delivery process
- Experience with Ellucian's Banner systems
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to self-prioritize and execute multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong customer service skills and experience working with a range of different stakeholders
- Able to work independently but also thrive in a team environment, collaborating across the university
Years of Experience Required One year of experience in financial aid or higher education

Bachelor's Degree
Minimum Qualifications
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Working Conditions
Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 10 pounds of weight or pressure). Regular use of desktop computer is required, calling for frequent hand/wrist movement and repetition. Moderate level of stress. Occasional travel within the local or regional setting may be required.
Duty and Responsibility
Student and Family Content and Communication:
- Plan, draft, and distribute email communications to students regarding financial aid application steps, requirements, awards, and deadlines using Ellucian Banner, Outlook, and other tools.
- Develop and maintain targeted financial aid content for the Roosevelt parent portal, providing clear, supportive messaging to guide families through the financial aid process.
- Maintain and update Financial Aid web pages to ensure content is accurate, student-centered, and aligned with Roosevelt's brand and values.
- Serve as a key contact for students and families seeking clarification on financial aid communications, delivering high-quality customer service.

Financial Literacy:
- Create inclusive messaging that promotes financial aid literacy and supports awareness campaigns aligned with Roosevelt's mission and student success initiatives.
- Conduct financial literacy workshops in person and virtually with an emphasis on credit, budgeting, and loan repayment.

Content Assessment:
- Monitor communication metrics to assess performance and implement improvements based on data insights.
- Monitor incoming student emails, phone calls, and visits to identify themes that could be addressed through proactive communications or website revision

- Proactively build and maintain excellent working relationships across the University
- Inform FAS team members and stakeholders of opportunities to enhance the student experience
- Ensures compliance with financial aid consumer information.
