Required qualifications include a master's degree in acting related field and experience teaching at the college level. Preferred qualifications include a professional profile as an actor and/or voice work. Salary for the 4.5 month appointment will be $25,000.

Description:

The Helmerich School of Drama at the University of Oklahoma seeks applicants for a one semester appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor of Voice and Diction. The successful candidate will teach 3 different levels of voice and diction courses and coach voice for fall 2025 School of Drama productions for both the University Theatre and the Gilson Lab seasons in a BFA professional training program.

The Helmerich School of Drama at the University of Oklahoma prepares students for creative and meaningful professional careers in a broad range of employment in professional theatre, dance, opera, television, film, live entertainment, industrial, and theme park venues. All the advantages of a liberal arts education in a renowned national university are combined with intensive conservatory-style training in BFA emphases in

Performance, Dramaturgy, Design (scenic, lighting, costume, and sound), and Stage Management. The School is comprised of 26 full-time faculty and staB and 152 majors. We produce 9 mainstage productions each year in collaboration with the School of Musical Theatre, the School of Dance, and the Opera Program in the School of Music and 4-6 Lab Theatre productions.
