Position Highlights
The University of Arizona's Parking and Transportation Services department is seeking a qualified candidate to fill their Dispatch and Disability Cart Services Lead position. The primary function is to assist the Dispatch and Disability Cart Service (DCS) Manager with overseeing, operating, and leading the Dispatch and Disability Cart Service team. Responsible for coordinating with other Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) units and external organizations to resolve customer inquiries and complex problems that require significant judgement, initiative, and recommendations for program changes. This position monitors the performance of Dispatchers and Disability Cart Service Drivers providing direction to maximize effectiveness and ensure consistency in application of parking regulations. This position requires one to approve time sheets, create and regulate schedules, and coordinate activity accordingly.This position is from 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, with potential adjustments based on departmental needs.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversees the daily operations of Dispatch and Disability Cart Services by conducting quality checks, supervising student employees, and ensuring they are meeting departmental standards. Providing high quality, front-line customer service to internal and external customers.
- Establishes long-term goals and performance benchmarks for team members, including hiring, training, scheduling, and disciplinary processes, while recommending program improvements and ensuring consistent application of performance expectations.
- Serves as acting supervisor in the Manager's absence.
- Responsible for efficient day-to-day operations by managing weekly cart driver assignments, troubleshooting the On-Demand Transportation application, and related equipment, along with overseeing key operational forms, such as Disability Resource Center, Campus Health, Boot and SafeRide forms.
- Coordinates with internal Parking and Transportation Services units and external partners such as the Disability Resource Center and Campus Health to resolve complex issues.
- Oversees dispatch operations in response to campus needs, ensuring timely and accurate deployment of personnel, along with analyzing operational problems, identifies solutions, and escalates issues when needed.
- Applies professional expertise to develop and implement improvements independently, ensuring compliance with established protocols and operational consistency.
- Clearly communicates policies, procedures, and job responsibilities to both internal team members and external stakeholders.
- Manages emergency dispatch operations involving parking related incidents, including special events and traffic control.
- Oversees the repair, maintenance, and operational readiness of the Disability Cart fleet.

Working Environment
- Lifting/moving more than 30 pounds rarely.
- Outdoor Environment: Employees work outdoors and may not be protected from weather conditions.
- Extreme Heat: Temperatures above 100 degrees for more than an hour.
- Extreme Cold: Temperatures below 40 degrees for more than an hour.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of
education and work experience. - Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to
the University Fleet Safety Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses. These reports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
