Visiting Assistant Professor, Spanish
The College of Idaho invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor in Spanish to start in the 2025 fall semester. We seek candidates who share the College’s commitment to creating an equitable and inclusive academic community.
The area of specialization is open, but the Spanish Department is particularly interested in candidates with expertise or experience with migration studies in the Mountain West. The successful candidate will teach Spanish language, Spanish for Heritage Speakers, and topics courses in Spanish and in English in the candidate’s area of expertise. This is a one-year position with the possibility of renewal. The typical teaching load is three courses each during the fall and spring semesters and one January-term course.
Qualifications
A terminal degree in Spanish, Applied Linguistics, or a closely related field is required as is native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English. ABD candidates will be considered.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States as of the expected hire date and throughout the date of the contract without sponsorship from the College.
