Position Details:
Indiana State University is looking to hire an Athletic Trainer I. The person hired for this position will perform many duties including, but not limited to the following:
- Evaluate and properly care for illnesses and injuries sustained by Indiana State University intercollegiate athletes.
- Administer therapeutic modalities for treatment of injuries and plan, implement and modify rehabilitation programs to safely return athletes to participation.
- Serve as a receptor for professional level athletic training students.
- Assist in coordinating appropriate medical personnel coverage and travel for ISU sports at the discretion of the Director of the Center for Sports Medicine and Performance.
- Serve as a liaison for the medical care and well-being of the ISU student athletes and sports medicine staff.
- Maintain accurate medical records for student athletes including medical history, physical exam forms, daily injury reports and progress notes.
- Assist with the operation and implementation of preseason physicals for all ISU athletes.
- Act as a member of the Center for Sports Medicine and Performance assisting in decision making and improvements within the department.
Qualified candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in athletic training or a related field and 6 months of experience in Athletic Training.

Job Summary:

Assist in coordinating appropriate medical personnel coverage and travel for ISU sports at the discretion of the Director of the Center for Sports Medicine and Performance. Serve as a liaison for the medical care and well-being of the ISU student athletes and sports medicine staff. Maintain accurate medical records for student athletes including medical history, physical exam forms, daily injury reports and progress notes. Responsible for assisting with the operation and implementation of preseason physicals for all ISU athletes. Act as a member of the Center for Sports Medicine and Performance assisting in decision making and improvements within the department.
