Job Summary/Basic Function:

This position will perform the following duties and functions:
  • Lead and continually develop student pathways for all university credentials. This includes credentials that can be obtained through Dual Enrollment alone as well as credentials earned post-high school graduation.
  • Be a liaison and work cooperatively between High School Dual Enrollment Advising and college / departmental advising units.
  • Lead and maintain the training process for new Dual Enrollment Academic Advisors
  • Lead and maintain the processing of Early College functions; including admission and scholarship tracking.
  • Oversee committees related to Dual Enrollment advising.
  • Help students resolve challenges regarding enrollment, retention, and persistence to graduation.
  • Present group advising sessions and related events when needed (e.g. New Student Orientation, etc.).
  • Provide Dual Enrollment Academic Advising when needed for complicated situations.
  • Fill in as an academic advisor in the high school when necessary.
  • As delegated by the supervisor and/or by the Executive Director, represent the department in public forums.
  • As delegated by the Executive Director or Supervisor, serve as a liaison to other WSU departments outside of academic advising.
  • In coordination with the Executive Director or Supervisor, assist with the development, management, implementation, and assessment of business processes or special projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:

Required:
  • Masters Degree, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 years of related professional experience
Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred:
  • One year of K-12 or higher education experience.
  • 2 or more years of academic advising experience.
  • Project management experience.

Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision: Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading.

The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position: None. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
