POSITION DESCRIPTION
Taft College is seeking a pool of qualified candidates with demonstrated instructional skills to join an outstanding team of faculty and staff to provide high quality programs and services for our students. Teaching assignments may be temporary, part-time and/or on-call and may be immediate or as needed (as specified in Education Code 8748.25). We are seeking lecturers with the ability to teach in the above area for inclusion in a pool for the Fall 2025 semester.
Note: Taft College is seeking an instructor for an asynchronous online lecture class for our baccalaureate completion program.
Dental Hygiene (DNTL) 4045 Public Health Education and Programs (3 units)
Course description: Contemporary issues in dental public health including aging populations, dental health care reform and access to care are covered in this course with focus on community health projects, community partnerships, and evaluation of dental public health programs.

QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum qualifications for this adjunct lecturer pool can be met in one of the following ways:
- Master's in dental technology; OR
- A master's degree or equivalent in the discipline directly related to Dental Technology AND two years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment and any appropriate licensure; OR
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in the discipline directly related to dental technology AND six years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment and any appropriate licensure; OR
- Master's in health science, health education, biology, nursing, physical education, kinesiology, exercise science, dietetics, nutrition or public health; OR
- Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in any biological science; OR
- The equivalent. An Equivalency Determination may be submitted along with all application materials to be considered for this position if you do not meet the stated minimum qualifications. - Must show a demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of college students.
- Master's degree or higher
- Experience teaching online courses.
- Experience teaching baccalaureate level courses.
