Essential Duties
Assistant Professor of Theatre: Nine-month tenure-track position
• Theatre Generalist with emphasis on Design and Production.
• The successful candidate will teach a twelve-hour course load per semester.
• The candidate will be responsible for teaching entry level Theatre core courses such as Theatre Appreciation.
• The candidate may also be asked to teach online graduate courses
• The candidate will receive three hours of release time for major departmental responsibilities; specifically, supervising the design and technical aspects of departmental productions
• Other duties include:
Participate in and recruit at theatre conferences such as SETC and MTA
Provide input to the formation of each performance season
Mentor students in areas of expertise
Contribute to the development of the departmental curriculum
Contribute service to the cultural needs of the University and the community.
Minimum Qualifications
The candidate must have an MFA or PhD in a Theatre discipline or other related field. Some academic experience is preferred, as is expertise in a secondary field such as theatre management or costuming. Also, though not required, experience in Professional Theatre is preferred.

This is a nine-month tenure-track faculty appointment in General Theatre, requiring a twelve-hour teaching load with three hours consisting of release time for departmental productions. Departmental and University service is also required.
