(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.



Department Information

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for the management and maintenance of enterprise Apple devices including but not limited to faculty and staff workstations, classroom computers, labs, kiosks, signage, etc.

Job Summary

Provides engineering expertise across the full lifecycle of the systems, services and solutions provided by the Enterprise Desktop Engineering group. The Enterprise Desktop Engineering group provides end-user device related services, and solutions, including but not limited to desktop, laptop and mobile operating systems, related applications and hardware as well as enterprise mobility management solutions, software licensing, digital signage and printing solutions.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Implements the full lifecycle of enterprise desktop and end user device management related systems, services and solutions, ensuring their quality, stability, recoverability, and security
2. Diagnoses and resolves problems
3. Develops and maintains documentation of systems, services, processes, and procedures
4. Augments primary on call staff by responding to major on call events on nights and weekends

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or similar field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience

Required Experience
Three (3) years of related IT experience demonstrating a progression of dealing with increasingly complex systems

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field

Preferred Experience
Experience working in higher education
Preferred experience with Jamf Pro
Preferred experience with bash and python scripting

Proposed Salary

ABILITIES
Able to function with autonomy, making sound and timely decisions as appropriate, and using good judgement to determine which decisions should be escalated
Able to diagnose and resolve problems
Able to adapt end-user computing deployment processes for use in specific areas, including faculty, staff and student lab computers
Able to design, analyze, evaluate and implement desktop and end user device management related systems, services, and solutions
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
Able to anticipate problems and proactively develop appropriate solutions
Able to appropriately assess and communicate risks, benefits, and alternatives

KNOWLEDGE
In-depth knowledge of several of the following: operating systems, virtualization, cloud services, and associated software
Extensive knowledge of desktop and end user device management operations
Must be well versed in current technologies, and industry best practices for their areas of responsibility

SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
