Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining grounds and performing landscaping duties including trash pick-up, push mowing, edging, string trimming and weed pulling. Maintains clean and safe environment for students, staff, faculty and guests.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs semi-skilled manual grounds keeping related tasks
2. Installs, operates, repairs and maintains grounds equipment and hand tools
3. Assists with event set-up and breakdown
4. Ensures assigned areas are clean, organized and stocked
5. Delivers and unloads materials, tools and equipment to assigned location

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent

Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid and unrestricted Georgia driver's license

Required Experience
On-the-job training provided

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience
An undergraduate or advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field

Previous related landscaping work experience

Proposed Salary

The budgeted salary range is $16.50 to $19.93 per hour. Offers are based on relevant experience.

ABILITIES
Able to use sound judgment regarding heavy loads and dangerous situations Able to drive KSU vehicles (gator, golf carts, etc.) with trailer on campus Able to use a variety of standard landscape equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently Able to identify plants and knowledge of proper care including pruning, planting and watering Able to be flexible adapting to frequently changing priorities Able to follow through and carry out assignments Able to perform heavy labor outdoors in all types of weather

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of maintenance processes, equipment and products; maintaining a safe environment

SKILLS
High level customer service, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, organization, communication (verbal and written), attention to detail and time management skills Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
