The School of Natural and Health Sciences at Seton Hill University invites applications for a full-time, twelve-month, tenure-track position, beginning fall 2025, to serve as the Program Director, and core faculty member, of a developing Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) program. Internal and accreditation (ACOTE) approvals will be completed by summer 2025. Join an enthusiastic Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and an experienced Doctoral Capstone Coordinator to create learning experiences and recruit the first class to enroll in fall 2026.

Seton Hill's occupational therapy doctorate program focus is optimizing health and wellbeing throughout the lifespan by engaging in meaningful activities and occupations. The program fosters wellbeing and life balance for students, faculty, fieldwork educators and clients. Experiential learning is supported by all program faculty

Responsibilities and Duties

The Program Director is a core faculty member responsible for the management and administration of the program, including planning, evaluation, budgeting, selection of faculty and staff, maintenance of accreditation, and commitment to strategies for professional development. The Director reports to the Dean and Provost.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • Eight years of occupational therapy experience including
    • Clinical practice as an occupational therapist
    • Administrative experience including, but not limited to, program planning and implementation, personnel management, evaluation, and budgeting.
    • Scholarship (e.g. scholarship of application, scholarship of teaching and learning)
    • Understanding of the role of the occupational therapist assistant
    • At least three years of experience on a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the postbaccalaureate level.
  • Doctoral degree (professional entry or post professional).
  • Commitment to optimizing health and wellbeing through occupation.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to foster collaborative problem-solving.
  • Exceptional ability to multitask and manage projects.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusiveness and cultural competence.
  • Licensed or eligible for Pennsylvania occupational therapy licensure.
    Experience preferred in
    • Working with underrepresented students and students from at-risk backgrounds.
    • Supervising, managing or mentoring others.
