Position Details:
Join Our Team at Indiana State University as an IT Security Engineer!

Are you passionate about cybersecurity and eager to make a difference in an academic environment? Indiana State University is seeking a dedicated IT Security Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our Lead Security Engineer to assess and mitigate risks within our environment. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that security compliance requirements and standards are met, following industry best practices to optimize our security posture, and developing and delivering cybersecurity training and awareness programs.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for understanding how threat actors exploit their targets, identifying the relevance of those threats to Indiana State University, and driving proactive risk mitigation efforts to protect and secure our data and assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Lead Security Engineer to assess and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure security compliance requirements and standards are met.
  • Follow industry best practices to optimize security posture.
  • Develop and deliver cybersecurity training and awareness programs.
  • Identify and address relevant threats to Indiana State University.

Qualified Candidates must have one of the following:
* Associate's degree in a related technical field and 3 years' experience working in a role dedicated specifically to a closely related field.
* Bachelor's degree in a related technical field and 1 year of experience working in a role dedicated specifically to a closely related field.
* Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity

Other Qualifications:
* Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
* Experience in risk assessment and mitigation.
* Ability to develop and deliver training programs.
* Passion for staying updated on the latest cybersecurity threats and trends.
