Carlow University is now accepting applications for the Junior Project Manager position in our Marketing and Communications department. The Junior Project Manager participates in the university’s marketing and communications efforts. The main responsibilities include working cohesively with the Marketing and Communications team, within our project management system and department technologies, collaboratively with University key stakeholders (i.e. SPOCs), supporting project priority management, conducting community research, and engaging with Carlow’s internal community.  The successful individual will support priority processes with and for the Marketing and Communications team and internal community, demonstrate excellence in communication, time-management, and organization, interpret customers’ behavior, problem-solve, and suggest creative ways to increase brand awareness (internally and externally). Working with external agency partners or experience a plus.  Ultimately, the individual will ensure our university’s marketing efforts help us achieve our immediate and long-term business goals on time and on budget.  

Essential Functions:

  • Develop partnerships with the internal community that continually foster a positive and professional experience with the Marketing and Communications Department. 
  • Participate and communicate effectively and efficiently within a team environment. 
  • Manage internal or external conflict and ensure partnerships are functioning optimally. 
  • Craft clear product marketing copy in partnership with our writer.  
  • Collaborate with design to produce promotional materials, including templates, for our internal audience.  
  • Conduct internal surveys and analyze results.  
  • Assist with implementing strategies/tactics that differentiate Carlow from our competitors.  
  • Prepare reports by collecting and analyzing the data provided into a concise manager for our cabinet and key stakeholders (multiple audiences).  
  • Organize promotional toolkits for new products/services.  
  • Prepare monthly invoices.  
  • Other duties as assigned to help drive to our vision, promote our brand, fulfill our mission, and abide by Carlow University’s values. 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  

  • Proven work experience in a marketing and communications department or agency.  
  • Proven project management experience within Basecamp; Adobe Workfront, or similar platform.   
  • Active problem-solver.
  • Proficient in multi-tasking. 
  • Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing tools.  
  • Solid computer skills, including MS Office Suite, web analytics and Google AdWords.  
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management and Content Management System software.  
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, and a passion for marketing strategies. 

Minimum Education Required:

  • BS degree in Marketing/Communications or relevant field required. 

Minimum Related Experience Required:

  • Experience in launching or bringing a new brand to market.
