YOUR ROLE

As an Entree Cook, you are part of a team that creates great tasting food with food safety in focus.
You will be preparing food in a variety of forms using a unique combination of equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares food on hot or
    cold production line, adhering to the recipe's method of preparation.
  • Coordinates food preparation needs and ordering needs with supervisor
    and p.m. staff. Prepares food items from recipes for restaurant daily.
  • Performs food preparation tasks such as sandwich, salad making and
    beverage preparation, following written standardized recipes.
  • Cleans and processes fruits
    and vegetables according to recipe's specifications. Labels, dates and
    stores fruits and vegetables in proper areas.
  • Assembles necessary
    ingredients to prepare orders. Labels and dates products. Assists cold
    food production when possible.
  • Weighs, labels, and dates all food items, stores in designated areas.
  • Prevents cross contamination of food
    products.
  • Cleans countertops,
    windows, walls, shelves, drain screens and floor mats. Cleans cooking
    utensils, grills, oven hoods, and other equipment used in food
    preparation; ensure all utensils are properly stored. Empties sanitizer
    and takes out trash.
  • Greets and serves customers in
    a friendly and courteous manner.
    Additional duties as
    assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge,
Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of food service
operations including large quantity food preparation.
Knowledge of job content,
practices, and procedures.
Skills necessary to fully
perform all aspects of the job.
Skill in operating various
institutional/commercial kitchen equipment.
Ability to effectively
communicate.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Must be able to transport/move a maximum of 60 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or
    equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years commercial or institutional cooking experience.
  • ServSafe or other food safety certification.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses. These reports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
