Southeastern Louisiana University's Office for Student Engagement invites applications for the position of Coordinator of the Student Government Association and Student Organizational Development. The Coordinator for Student Government Association (SGA) and Student Organizational Development is a key member of the Student Engagement team at Southeastern Louisiana University. This dynamic role supports the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of SGA, fostering leadership, governance, and civic engagement on campus. Additionally, the role provides mentorship and serves as a go-to resource for Recognized Student Organizations, ensuring fluidity in processes, increased visibility, and enhanced access.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university by hire date
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to communicate well with others orally and in writing
- Ability to work irregular hours
- Must be committed to working with diversity
- Must have a basic understanding of technology
- Experience in higher education or related fields
- Computer knowledge with web development experience
- Broad experience in the development of educational, cultural, and social programs
- Experience in advising students of underrepresented student populations
- Sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population, including but not limited to minority and international students

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to build collaborative relationships, commitment to student-centered programming, and effective leadership and organizational abilities

- Ability to embrace and support a culture of collegiality, inclusive excellence, and demonstrated understanding of and strong commitment to customer service and a student-centered experience
- Have acquired knowledge, experience, and involvement in student development, program/project management, counseling students, and conversing with parents and families
- Excellent organizational, oral, written, and online communication skills
- Sound judgment and ability to resolve student issues and crises effectively
- Ability to multitask, meet established deadlines, and demonstrate initiative and flexibility
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with special sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population
