Position Title: Head Women's Soccer Coach

Term End Date, If Applicable: 6/30/2026
FLSA Status: Exempt = not eligible for overtime
Work Schedule: Variable shift/variable days depending upon playing schedule, recruiting demands and department events.
Salary: $57,000-$67,000
Travel: 10-25%
Brief Statement of Duties: Direct, organize, coach and administer the women's soccer program.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree

Required Specialized Training/Certifications:
- NCAA learning portal proficiency, or passing within one month of hire.
- Possess a current CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
Required Minimum Work Experience:
- Demonstrated successful soccer coaching experience as a head coach or an assistant coach at the professional level, the NCAA Division I, II or III level, or as a head coach at the NAIA, junior college or high school level.
- No prior involvement with NCAA major rules violations.
- On- and off-campus recruitment of student athletes.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties:
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of NCAA, conference and NMU compliance rules.
- Education and Training-Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
- Administration and Management-Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

- Instructing-Teaching others how to do something.
- Oral and Written Communication-Active listening, speaking, and writing which ensures comprehension and understanding in both the speaker and target audience.
- Time Management-Managing one's own time and the time of others.

- Monitoring-Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.

Abilities:
- Ability to use various computer software applications including video editing systems.
- Ability to organize effectively.
- Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
- Ability to come up with unusual or original ideas about a given topic or situation, or to develop creative ways to solve a problem.
- Ability to establish a good rapport and effective working relationship with student athletes, coaches, assistant coaches, administrators, college faculty and staff, alumni, professional colleagues, and the general public.

Additional Desirable Qualifications:
Collegiate soccer playing experience.
Master's Degree.
