Job Description:
Job Summary:
Program Managers report to a Program Director and contribute to a quality student experience by ensuring the success of program components, including program design, assessment, technology integrations, and curriculum development. Program Managers manage teaching faculty, foster student development, oversee the student experience, and engage in academic governance. CityU currently has an opening for a Program Manager to lead MBA and Executive MBA (EMBA) programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Program Director with assessing, reviewing, and developing specified MBA and EMBA program components. Maintain program currency and review and revise programs to enhance the student learning experience.
- Teach three (3) courses per year or the equivalent, within compensation, to ensure quality of program and student learning experience. Out-of-compensation teaching opportunities may be available at the discretion of the Program Director after in-comp teaching obligations have been fulfilled. Model excellence in teaching and learning and foster student development.
- Assist with managing the performance of teaching faculty in designated program components. Establish expectations for excellence in teaching and learning under the supervision of the Program Director.
- Assist the Program Director in ensuring that the program curriculum aligns with the CityU Academic Model and focuses on application and current practice. Develop program components as assigned and evaluate and update existing curriculum.
- Assist the Program Director in ensuring the program alignment with accreditation standards.
- Support student learning and engagement. Proactively develop students to become responsible, ethical, self-directed professionals. Ensures effective orientation, training, mentoring, and coaching for students to foster a respectful and empowering learning environment. Solve student-related issues.
- Support student retention and graduation/completion rates. Develop proactive interventions to assist at-risk students. Provide quarterly check-ins with students in assigned programs and create opportunities for engagement outside of the classroom environment.
- Engage in academic and institutional governance by serving on councils and committees.
- Participate in and promote professional communities in areas of expertise.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:

- A DBA degree from an accredited institution, or a Ph.D. in a relevant field with a MBA.
- Minimum of 5 years working in business settings, preferably companies in the Puget Sound Region.
- Minimum of 2 years gaining global cultural acumen in an international business setting.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in teaching, preferably in both in-class and online modes of educational delivery.
- Ability and experience in determining how technological trends will impact the business world.
- Ability to address student academic-related issues and concerns supporting retention and student success.
- Ability to lead and manage in a creative and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work comfortably with and manage virtual teams.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills. Must relate to and communicate with diverse students, faculty, staff, and external communities.
- Ability to present a professional image on behalf of the academic school and CityU.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and learning management systems in support of quality teaching and learning.

Salary information:
$78,000 -- 90,000/year
