Position Announcement
Utah Tech University is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our Purchasing team as a Part-Time Purchasing Assistant. This role supports the daily operations of the Purchasing Department, ensuring compliance with university and state policies while facilitating smooth procurement processes.
Responsibilities
* Assist with the preparation and processing of purchase orders and invoices.
* Maintain and manage the Purchasing inbox and calendar to ensure efficient communication and scheduling.
* Address purchasing and procurement-related inquiries, providing resolution or directing them to the appropriate personnel.
* Support Purchasing and Business Services in fiscal year-end assignments.
* Perform administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and organizing purchasing records.
* Provide support with PCard-related duties as needed.
* Collaborate with university departments to facilitate the timely and accurate procurement of goods and services.
Qualifications
* Associate's degree is required, preferably in business management or a related field.
* Experience in purchasing or administrative support is a plus.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Strong communication skills and problem-solving skills.
* Familiarity with state purchasing policies or procurement systems is a bonus.

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Part-time hourly staff position. This position requires approximately 20-25 hours per week. Flexible scheduling options are available to accommodate academic or personal commitments. Hourly rate of $14/hr.
