SUPERVISOR: Associate Dean of Health

BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for coordination of Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Program, including staff management and program compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required - Registered nurse.

Minimum of two years of nursing experience, at least one year of which shall be in the provision of long-term care facility services.

Basic computer skills.

Preferred - Bachelor of Arts/Science Degree.

Bilingual English Spanish.

Copies of all academic transcripts are required. Unofficial copies are acceptable at the time of application. Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment, a complete set of original transcripts will be required.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Administer Certified Nurse Aide program.

2. Develop and monitor classes, registering, and billing information for CNA program. Analyze state and national processes and guidelines, recommend improvements, and implement new procedures.

3. Develop and monitor non-credit healthcare course offerings including, but not limited to, med aide and med manager courses, EMS, and Nursing.

4. Maintain student contact information and documentation within the student record system.

5. Work in collaboration with Adult Basic Education, Continuing Education, Secondary Programs, Academic and Student Services, and other college programs and committees on the development and implementation of career pathways and articulation of programs between non-credit and credit.

6. Develop measurable and effective recruitment, assessment, and referral activities designed for target populations.

7. Conduct outreach, recruitment, and intake process, along with accompanying support services, reflecting sensitivity to the time and financial constraints and remediation needs of target populations.

8. Partner with local, state, and federal agencies to assist underserved and low-income populations explore healthcare career opportunities and workforce skill enhancement.

9. Serve on sector boards and advisory committees as needed.

10. Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate CNA instructors as appropriate.

11. Develop and monitor information and data as required for local, state, and federal reporting.

12. Serve on appropriate committees/teams to carry out the college mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives.

13. Keep the Dean informed of activities.

14. Any other duties assigned by the CAO or by the Associate Dean of Health.

WAGE/SALARY RANGE: dependent on experience and education
