Full Time Tenure Track Economics Faculty
Lorain County Community College seeks a dedicated full-time Economics faculty member to provide academic leadership and instruction for our thriving Economics program. This tenure-track position will begin Fall 2025 and play a crucial role in maintaining the program's excellence while supporting multiple degree pathways.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach economics courses including ECNM 151 (Principles of Macroeconomics), ECNM 152 (Principles of Microeconomics), and ECNM 113 (Personal Finance)
- Lead curriculum development and assessment initiatives across all economics courses
- Ensure alignment with Ohio Transfer 36 (OT36) and Career-Technical Assurance Guide (CTAG) requirements
- Mentor and provide leadership to adjunct faculty
- Participate in program review processes and institutional governance
- Maintain regular office hours for student support and mentoring
- Develop innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes
- Participate in departmental and college-wide committees
- Support articulation agreements with four-year institutions
- Engage in professional development activities

Qualifications
Required Qualification:
- Master's degree in Economics or closely related field from an accredited institution
- Experience teaching economics at the college level
- Demonstrated commitment to student success and excellence in teaching
- Strong understanding of assessment practices and learning outcome measurement
- Experience with various teaching modalities (face-to-face, online, hybrid)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to inclusion in education
Preferred Qualification:
- Ph.D. in Economics or related field
- Experience teaching at a community college
- Experience with learning management systems
- Background in program assessment and review
