Position Summary
The Department of Criminal Justice at Austin Peay State University is continuously taking applications for individuals seeking adjunct, dual enrollment, or temporary instructor positions for all semesters. Instructors are needed both in person and online for all areas including, but not limited to, General Criminal Justice, Criminology, Research Methods, Homeland Security, Policing, Corrections, Forensics, and Courts/Law. Depending on qualifications, courses may be available at the graduate level.
The Department of Criminal Justice offers a Bachelor's and a Master of Science in criminal justice, each with an optional concentration in homeland security. The program enrolls about 320 undergraduate majors and 50 graduate students per year. The Department of Criminal Justice offers courses through diverse delivery methods, including face-to-face, online, and hybrid/blended formats. The successful candidate may contribute to and assist with the graduate program.
Austin Peay State University is a public university with an enrollment of nearly 10,000 students in Clarksville, Tennessee, a community of an estimated 180,000 people located approximately 40 miles northwest of Nashville, Tennessee, and adjacent to the Ft. Required Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in criminal justice or higher; JD is also acceptable; A Master's degree in a related field must accompany 18 hours of graduate work in the area of criminal justice
- A background search will be required of the successful applicant.
Desired Qualifications
- An ability to teach a wide range of criminal justice courses
- Demonstrated experience teaching across various delivery methods (online, hybrid, face-to-face, etc.)
