Prescott College is a private, non-profit, liberal arts college in the central highlands of Arizona with a mission that emphasizes self-directed, experiential learning for social justice and environmental sustainability.The Counselor Education department is seeking one or more full-time Clinical Faculty members to serve in its CACREP accredited Master of Science in Counseling Program. The limited-residency delivery model blends a core curriculum that combines online, in-person, and community-based learning. The program integrates theoretical study, field work, on-campus residencies, practica and internships, and community engagement to prepare diverse learners for professional licensure. Faculty govern the curricula, teach courses, advise students, support student learning, engage in scholarship and professional development within the field.The Counseling Program has one specialization: Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Distinctive features of this program are the areas of emphasis (Somatic Counseling, Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling, and Social Justice Counseling) as well as the range of alternative modalities offered as post-graduate certificates (Expressive Art Therapy, Adventure-based Counseling, and Nature-based Counseling).This is primarily an online position, with a requirement that faculty travel and participate in new student orientation and colloquia (residencies) at least twice a year.

Required Education and Experience

• Earned doctoral degree in counselor education, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program, or have related doctoral degrees and have been employed as full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013.
• Demonstration of a strong professional counselor identity through membership and/or leadership in organizations whose primary mission is to advocate for and to provide development, support, and/or recognition for professional counselors, such as the American Counseling Association (ACA) and its divisions and/or branches and other major counseling organizations.
• Knowledge and experience in culturally competent counseling and social justice initiatives that serve historically excluded communities, with an interest and capacity to further develop curriculum in this area.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with culturally competent and anti-racist curriculum development.
• 3+ years’ experience in clinical practice.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in state of residence.
• A minimum of 1-year teaching experience at the graduate college level required, with preference toward those with experience in online or hybrid learning environments.
• Demonstrated embodied approach to student centered teaching and advising.
• Experience in clinical supervision at the masters or doctoral level.
• Experience with student and program evaluation and student assessment.
• An active research agenda demonstrated through ongoing publications and conference presentations.
• Proficient technology skills related to online learning management platforms, video conferencing, student assessment, community building, etc.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, a sense of humor, a collaborative approach, and the ability and desire to serve as a mentor and advisor to counselors-in-training.

Preferred Experience

• Strong preference toward candidates with demonstrated interest and expertise in somatic therapeutic approaches and modalities.
• Strong preference toward candidates with demonstrated interest and expertise in expressive arts or art therapy approaches and modalities.
• Demonstrated experience with the CACREP self-study and accreditation process.
