Job Summary
A member of the Marketing and Communications team, the Assistant Director of Multimedia Marketing and Communications creates and assists in the management of multimedia content for the college including but not limited to social media, internal and external video production, web, and other digital media opportunities. The Assistant Director will help identify, strategize, and execute high-impact creative multimedia opportunities for the college working with a range of college, university, and external stakeholders to achieve desired audience engagement and business outcomes.
Duties & Responsibilities
Carrying multimedia equipment to and from locations. : Occasionally
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field.
- Three (3) years (36 months) of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related professional area.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Digital marketing campaign experience.
- Video production experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education or healthcare
- Ability to capture well-composed still photographs to be used primarily for social media and digital purposes
- Basic graphic design experience with Adobe Creative Suite
- Basic web design experience (this position will be trained on CI MED's Content Management System (CMS), experience with other CMS platforms is not needed).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5004 - Marketing Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 1/13/2025. The budgeted salary range is $72,000 - $82,000. We strive to provide
a competitive salary, considering factors such as available market data,
internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining
agreements, and budget constraints. The final salary offer will be determined
through a thorough assessment of these elements. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this
position.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Multimedia Content Strategy & Production Management
- Participate in multimedia strategy, development, and execution, including designing and creating multimedia content for digital platforms. Manage production of creative multimedia elements.
- Creating vertical and horizontal videos, photos, and other assets that showcase the breadth and depth of educational programs and groundbreaking research, along with highlighting our faculty, learners, and academic culture within CI MED
- Provide multimedia design, branding and production services to Carle Illinois faculty, staff, and university colleagues including video, web, and other new media.
- Work with the Graphic and Web Coordinator to create and maintain Carle Illinois' visual identity and brand guidelines in multimedia content while upholding the university and CI MED brand standards for multimedia and web collateral.
- Catalog file assets, manage file versions and naming conventions.
- Maintain knowledge of current best practices and be continuously following and studying social media and digital marketing video trends. - Web and Print Design & Strategic Marketing
- Develop, maintain and implement multimedia marketing strategies, campaigns, and content related to the website.
- Assist in the creation of CI MED webpages and maintenance of the CI MED website.
- Stay current on latest trends in website design, accessibility, and usability, and make recommendations for new features of video and other multimedia content.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of various design templates.
- Work with the marketing and communications team to ensure a high standard of creative execution on time and on budget. - Digital Marketing, Metrics and Analytics
- Assist in the execution and design of digital marketing campaigns for the college.
- Assist in the management and reporting of digital marketing analytics that will serve as key performance indicators for the digital marketing campaigns. Make adjustments and recommendations to maximize impact and performance.
- Assist the Graphic and Web Coordinator in tracking and reporting web analytics.
- Maintain videos and photos in our digital asset management system. - Other
- As a representative of the Marketing and Communications team, participate in college committees, ad hoc work groups, and projects. Provide guidance and recommendations that advance college initiatives and support the marketing and communications strategy
- Supervise temporary hourly staff as needed; manage their assigned work, projects and deliverables
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships in a manner consistent with a workplace of dignity and respect

- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office products on a Mac platform
- Superior teamwork and client relations skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced, diverse work environment
- Knowledge of creating and maintaining multimedia and interactive web content
- Knowledge and understanding of current trends and best practices in online and offline marketing and measurement, including web analytics tools
- Demonstrated ability to perform multiple and changing priorities in a professional demeanor, under minimal supervision
- Ability to organize, manage and present complex information in a clear manner
