JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Penn State World Campus Bursar Office is seeking a motivated individual to fill the position of Accountant - Supervisor/Senior Supervisor to work in a fast-paced student-centric office. This position will provide exceptional customer service to support our variety of units, including military students utilizing military educational benefits, and will work closely with the World Campus Military Educational Benefits Team.
The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Performing various account reconciliations
- Recognizing discrepancies, suggesting appropriate corrective actions, and analyzing for accuracy and completeness on both student accounts and corporate accounts
The successful candidate for this position must have financial, accounting, and bookkeeping experience, a strong background in Accounts Receivable, and proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications, including Excel. Candidates should also possess the following characteristics:
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team-based environment
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills to address unique situations and concerns in daily interactions with a diverse audience
- High level of critical and analytical thinking skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills to plan, organize, and direct work objectives, priorities, and deadlines
- High level of professionalism and the ability to meet specific deadlines, work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
This position will be filled at an Accountant - Supervisor or Senior Supervisor level, and minimally requires a Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Penn State is embarking on a project to restructure the University's financial functions to move towards a centralized, service hub-based structure. This position is intended to initially support the unit and functions listed in this posting; however it may evolve over time relative to the overall restructuring. The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:
$61,800.00 - $102,300.00
