Description:

The Biomedical Engineering Department at CMU is looking to fill a position to help set up, grow, and sustain the Body, Brain, Behavior Moonshot Initiative. The person will help set up interdisciplinary focus groups for identifying areas of funding opportunities. The person will further help create a seminar series for graduate students, focused on intelligent, engineered interfaces for the body and brain. In addition, the person will work with the Initiative leads to establish an educational environment for multi-scale, multi-modal, and multi-interdisciplinary work. The person will also help harness and foster internal and cross disciplinary collaboration, community engagement, and bridging / enabling industry engagement. The person will be required to interface with faculty, students, and industry and will help write grants and pursue funding opportunities.

Qualifications:

The applicant should have a PhD in Biomedical Engineering or related fields. The ideal applicant has a track record in biomedical imaging and sensing as well as a should have completed postdoctoral training in a neuroimaging area. The applicant should have experience in writing scientific papers as well as giving conference presentations. The applicant will also be responsible for communicating with the Initiative leads on performance of PhD students performing cross disciplinary research as part of the Moonshot Initiative.
