Network Systems Analyst I
Job Summary
Assist in the design, configuration, and maintenance of the campus network, which may include workstations, servers, applications, audio-visual equipment, copiers, printers, and phones. Facilitate the operation of technology equipment and associated software.
Essential Functions
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the network which may include providing specialized analysis, evaluation, security services, troubleshooting and technical maintenance.
- Configure, install and maintain operating systems software, application software and workstation images.
- Create custom scripts and batch files for computer management, software deployment with the desktop management suite, and user account management. Repackage software for deployment with Microsoft Configuration manager
- Train faculty, staff, and students on the use of technology and address technology questions and issues.
- Provide work direction to temporary employees that support the network.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of post-secondary education including computer coursework, computer-related workshops, networking seminars or training sessions, or Microsoft certified systems engineer training.
- Two years of experience in the installation and configuration of personal computers, including experience with the following Microsoft software: Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of communication methods and software applications on LANs and WAN.
- Working knowledge of network applications such as DNS, DHCP, and WINS.
- Experience creating and editing scripts or batch files to automate the deployment of software applications and\or the management of workstations.
- Strong communications skills.
- Ability to plan, organize and manage time.
- Ability to interact effectively, courteously and impartially with diverse populations.
Desired Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in computer related field.
- Experience with PowerShell, Microsoft Configuration Manager.
- Experience with data center UPS systems including diesel power generation.
