We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Technician to join our dynamic research team. This full-time position interacts with Research Staff on the projects to support clinical and animal research projects. Training will be provided for all tasks, ensuring the successful candidate gains the necessary skills for the role.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Sets up laboratory equipment by following supervisor instructions and laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
  • Assist the Principal Investigator (PI) with collecting patient biospecimens.
  • Assists with conducting experiments in lab based on direction from research staff.
  • Follows documented protocols to conduct laboratory procedures such as reagent preparation, tissue procurement, and basic tissue processing.
  • Support the Principal Investigator (PI) by maintaining contact with study participants. This includes enrolling and scheduling them.
  • Collects basic information from study participants to help with the recruiting and screening process.
  • Shadows and observes research staff to learn the study procedures, and to build an understanding of the clinical and basic science research duties, and regulatory controls (IRB).
  • Maintains logs and records related to study participants.
  • Enter data and retrieve information from patient databases as directed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Working knowledge of lab/clinical setting.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences or equivalent.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.
