Job Description:

The Department of Professional Education Programs of The Esteves School of Education at Russell Sage College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Education in Physical Education, effective for Academic Year 2025/2026. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Teaching load of 7-8 courses per academic year (Fall and Spring semesters) including supervision of student teachers.
  2. Advising students in the undergraduate physical education program
  3. Service and scholarship appropriate for a tenure-track position at a teaching institution. 

The estimated base academic year salary for this position is $50,000 commensurate with experience.

Requirements:

The successful candidate should have the following:

  1. A terminal degree in physical education or related area from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (ABD considered), and/or significant experience in teaching physical education in PK-12 schools;
  2. New York State or equivalent certification in PK-12 Physical Education or eligible to hold teaching certification;
  3. Strong leadership and management skills;
  4. A track record of collaboration;
  5. The ability to work in a dynamic environment;
  6. Willingness to support the recruitment and retention of students in both undergraduate and graduate programs.
