The Department of Applied Psychology and Counselor Education, in the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences, at the University of Northern Colorado is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Counseling Psychology to join our APA-accredited Counseling Psychology doctoral program. We welcome applications from scholars with expertise in any area of research, teaching, and clinical work relevant to the field, although preference will be given to those who can contribute to a new university emphasis as a Hispanic Serving Institution.
Position Summary:
The Department of Applied Psychology and Counselor Education, in the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences, at the University of Northern Colorado is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Counseling Psychology to join our APA-accredited Counseling Psychology doctoral program. We welcome applications from scholars with expertise in any area of research, teaching, and clinical work relevant to the field, although preference will be given to those who can contribute to a new university emphasis as a Hispanic Serving Institution.
Minimum Qualifications:
Earned doctorate in Counseling Psychology (or closely related field) from an APA accredited program by August 16, 2025; evidence of scholarly/teaching potential; licensed or license eligible in Colorado; training in clinical supervision and clinical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with ethnically and culturally diverse populations, a strong research methods background, and university teaching and/or supervision experience in one or more of the following areas: health psychology; cognitive, affective, and/or biological aspects of behavior; clinical practicum (individual, group, couples/family); ethics; supervision; and assessment. Existing record of excellence in graduate teaching, mentoring, and research relevant to Counseling Psychology. Experience teaching in a CACREP-accredited program and familiarity with CACREP programs. Potential for securing external funding is also desired. Individuals should also demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with others and possess a commitment to diversity and social justice. Background Check

This position is contingent on funding from the Colorado State Legislature, approval by the Board of Trustees, and subject to the policies and regulations of the University of Northern Colorado.
