The Financial Aid Office's focus is to eliminate unnecessary barriers to college access and completion. Our goal is to simplify the financial aid process as much as possible, and to make sure students are always engaged and aware of the next step. Our office allows us to reach students earlier and more efficiently, to have important conversations with students about their individual situations and what needs to be done to help them persist and succeed.

Essential Duties:
- Updates forms for use on websites and office e-files.
- Participate in on-going professional training and development with federal financial aid, financial coaching, money management, and related certification requirements.
- Responsible for reviewing financial aid e-mails and responding to questions. Using interpersonal skills to meet with students and their supporter(s) and educate on financial aid options and personal finance.
- Sends out global e-mail messages to students and groups concerning various issues.
- Provides general office and administrative support by performing various data maintenance, reception, records activities, information distribution, correspondence, and other related support duties.
- Initial contact person for students and parents; provides answers for basic processing questions to students and parents.
- Performs other duties as assigned to ensure the overall successful operation of the department including public speaking.
**This position will be located in Norman with a flexible and/or remote option possible for experienced candidates after required training period and is eligible to participate in our Launch Advancement Program and receive up to $7,500 upon completion. **
Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED., AND:
- 48 months of financial aid, general office, clerical, or related experience.
Skills:
- Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.
- Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to build rapport with students, faculty and staff.
- Ability to produce reports and complete work within deadlines.
- Strong initiative to solve problems in a timely manner.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work in sitting position, use computer and answer telephone.
- Office Work Environment.
Departmental Preferences:
- Prefer experience in the Student Services arena and/or financial institutions
