Carlow University’s College of Health and Wellness and School of Nursing is seeking an MSN-prepared experienced nurse for a 9-month staff position to work with the undergraduate nursing programs at our Oakland campus beginning in January 2025.
This position is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the use of the Nursing Simulation/Skills Laboratory to advance undergraduate clinical nursing education to promote the development of clinical judgment skills and the delivery of safe, quality healthcare. Responsibilities include collaboration with nursing faculty, staff, and students to deliver highquality educational experiences. Best practices for teaching and evaluating simulation learning experiences will be evidence-based and in accordance with Society for Simulation in Healthcare guidelines. In addition, the Skills and Simulation Lab Coordinator will oversee day-to-day operations in the lab. Candidates should have prior clinical practice and experience working with nursing students.
This is a 9-month exempt staff position, requiring daily active presence on Carlow’s Oakland campus, usual workday hours of Monday-Friday. Attendance at occasional evening or weekend events will be required during the academic calendar year.
Requirements:
- Valid, current, unrestricted Pennsylvania RN License.
- MSN Degree required.
- Clearances - Upon hire and updated every three years to include ACT 153 Clearances (FBI Fingerprints, Child Abuse, and PA State Police).
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with simulation in nursing education
- Certification in Healthcare Simulation certification
- Evidence of relevant ongoing teaching and clinical expertise.
