Position Highlights

Research Administration at the University of Arizona Health Sciences invites applications for the position of Activation and Data Specialist. The successful candidate is responsible for the routing and tracking of contracting projects for Research Administration's research contracts team and providing project coordinator services throughout the life of each project. They will work closely with faculty, research nurses, study teams, and our medical partner, Banner Health, to provide timely and expert support in the administrative routing and maintenance of contracts.

May be required to work weekend and evening hours when necessary.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides assistance to ensure quality and timely completion/submission of research projects.
  • Track, monitor, follow-up and provide updates on project progress.
  • Accurately and efficiently enter data into documents and systems as required.
  • Maintain final documents and distribute to internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Prepare and route proposal documents in UAccess Research, an enterprise-wide research administration system.
  • Assist the clinical trials and contracts teams with email management, accurate database entry and management, and tracking project statuses.
  • Monitor team databases, dashboards, and internal files for data integrity by checking for errors, anomalies, and missing data.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Self-motivated, takes initiative, and has a strong ability to multi-task multiple projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and significant attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of a clinical trial or contract management system.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, high-volume, dynamic team environment with changing priorities in a manner that is effective and efficient.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact professionally and effectively with investigators, sponsors, and cross-functional teams to resolve issues with a positive outcome.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of university and sponsor agency policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of grant award structure and subaward flow down.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with UA systems, specifically UAccess Research.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting clinical research including study coordination, budget development, payor coverage analysis, and/or contract review.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.
