The Business Manager in Management and Organizations Department will perform a broad scope of professional accounting activities, hiring and payroll, and office management oversight. The candidate will ensure the day-to-day operations in the department are carried out in accordance with established principles, policies, and objectives.The Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona is a leading business school in the United States. Duties & Responsibilities

Financial:
- Act as Department Fiscal Officer and signature authority.
- Prepare, execute, and track budgets including department operations budget.
- Plan and maintain internal budgets for faculty and PhD students.
- Perform monthly UA and Foundation expense reconciliations.
- Review and approve reimbursements, P-Card transactions and purchasing orders for departmental-related expenses, and travel authorizations and expenses for faculty, staff and graduate students.
- Pay invoices, vendors, internal billings and DVs; process cash deposit as needed for the department.
- Conduct fiscal year-end account review and rollover, review reports, and create special reports as needed.
- Create and process faculty and student awards, assist in tracking and reconciling faculty awards, prepare student award letters, work closely with Dean's office for award allocation.
- Assist in development activities such as tracking gifts, analyzing reports, researching donor profiles, and tracking department head's development activities and communicating with Eller Development Team and UA Foundation.
- Process operational advances for research faculty.
- Manage finances for student clubs and travel.
- Provide budget vs. actual reports to department head.
- Provide faculty with research fund balances.
- Collect and process perspective student enrollment fees.
- Review and approve payroll hours; reconcile payroll payments bi-weekly.
- Manage the payment and assignments of facilitators.
Administrative:
- Oversee the daily operations of the department including being informed and applying any pertinent rules, policies, and procedures set forth by the University of Arizona or other governing agencies; communicate changes with the department head.
- Provide support for quality reviews and annual reporting requirements (AACSB Maintenance of Accreditation and Academic Program Review).
- Represent the department at meetings, trainings, and activities.
- May manage Room and Course Scheduling.
- May assist with new course development.
- Handle grant submissions and tracking for research faculty.
- Assist HR activities including onboarding, Student Workers/Graduate Assistant/Associate (GA) new hires and job change transactions.
- Assist with faculty recruiting, including creating job postings and advertisements, interviewing, campus visits, and preparing offer letters.
- Assist with various personnel functions and act as liaison with HR.
- Support the faculty promotion and tenure process including faculty annual evaluations in UAVitae.
- Coordinate summer & winter session hiring, supplemental compensation, Other Professional Services, summer research support and other payroll-related documents.
- Assist HR with year-end HR rollover process.
- Coordinate visiting scholars, including working with the International Faculty Office, Designated Campus Colleague appointments, and any immigration status and concerns for faculty and graduate assistants.
Supervisory:
- Supervise 1-2 staff members.
- Responsible for training, performance counseling, career conversations, and other supervisory functions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Ability to communicate with management and leadership, as needed.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to supervise 2 individuals who provide operational support.
- Skill in basic accounting principles.
- Skill in time management and in dealing with multiple priorities.
- Skill in effective verbal and written communication.
- Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to educate and influence others within and outside of the job function regarding policies, standards, and processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.
