Global Professor (Tianjin, CHN)
Posting Number: req21134
Department: Physics
Location: Outside of US
Address: Tianjin CHN
Position Highlights
We seek a new faculty member in Physics to join our growing team of Global Professors at the UA-HEBUT Arizona College of Technology, which includes partner programs in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Sciences and Engineering. We offer extremely competitive salary, free housing at HEBUT for faculty and family, and annual roundtrip airfare for faculty.
Our program allows students to earn a joint B.S. in Applied Physics from both universities in four years, entirely in residence at HEBUT. The Global Professor will receive complete course materials and training from experienced instructors at the home department in Tucson, in preparation for joining the faculty in Tianjin in Fall 2025. The expected teaching load is two to three courses per semester, taught entirely in English. This is a unique and well-compensated opportunity to build a new program in Applied Physics, in collaboration with faculty from the partner programs.
Early-career applicants should have expertise in teaching introductory physics, and later-career applicants should have additional expertise in a broad range of advanced undergraduate courses. In addition to being a faculty member of the UA, the Global Professor will also be a faculty member of UA's partner university, HEBUT. As such, the job holder will be bound by the rules and regulations of both institutions and countries and must be able to qualify for, and obtain, a Chinese visa which will be sponsored by the partner university.
HEBUT is well equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and classrooms, in a brand-new facility constructed exclusively for the joint college.
There is no deadline for application, and applicants will be reviewed until the position is filled. Projected hire date is January 2025, with one semester of training in Tucson, followed by residence in HEBUT beginning September 2025. Outstanding UA benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance plans; life insurance and disability programs; paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays; UA/ASU/NAU tuition reduction for the employee and qualified family members; state and optional retirement plans; and more.
