Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

The Department of Educational Leadership at Kennesaw State University is committed to preparing educational leaders who have sensitivity to and investment in the needs and development of all current and future stakeholders. Job Summary

Kennesaw State University seeks a highly accomplished scholar and strategic leader for an administrative faculty position as a tenured Professor and Chair of the Department of Educational Leadership with a preferred start date of July 1, 2025. This is a twelve-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Shaping and guiding the direction of the College as a key part of the administrative leadership team
  • Working closely with the Dean of the Bagwell College of Education
  • Developing and coordinating a strategic plan for the department
  • Budgeting and fiscal management of departmental resources
  • Acting as a liaison for the department in formal communications
  • Building strong relationships with college and university administrators, faculty, and staff, as well as external school districts and agencies
  • Partnering with the department faculty council, advisory board, and key stakeholders
  • Ensuring optimal class schedules and the effective allocation of instructional resources
  • Leading faculty assessment, development, and evaluation
  • Driving recruitment strategies to attract graduate students
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications
  • A terminal degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Educational Leadership or a related field with an academic background and appropriate credentials required to be a tenured Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership in the Bagwell College of Education at Kennesaw State University is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a department chair or equivalent leadership in a higher education setting, including strategic planning, managing budgets, and supervising personnel
  • Record of advocating for students, faculty, staff
  • Expertise in building and maintaining collaborative relationships and in sustaining effective communities of practice among faculty
  • Experience with shared governance
  • Experience with graduate program development and recruitment
  • Experience with multiple modes of instructional delivery
  • Experience supporting faculty and student research initiatives and grants
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate and sustain partnerships with P-16 schools
  • Record of involvement in professional organizations at the state, regional, and national/international level
  • Experience with program assessment and accreditation

Background Check
