Job Description

The Office Assistant provides general administrative and office support to The UMKC Conservatory including a variety of responsibilities such as assisting the Dean, Leadership Team and Department Chair(s), with contracts, purchases, and other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist Conservatory Faculty/Staff/Students with the production of Contracts, Honoraria, and Payments to hired service providers.

* Serve as primary faculty/staff liaison for Conservatory orders related to productions, music rental/purchase, classroom materials, and any other orders as directed.

* Serve as primary liaison for large ensemble orders for bands, orchestra, choirs, and jazz bands, including any library materials, copies, and classroom/rehearsal supplies. Provide logistical support for large ensemble tours.

* Other duties as assigned.

Shift

Part-time, non-benefits eligible position at 20 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Well organized, detail-oriented candidate.

  • Collaborative and supportive of faculty, student, staff and department chairs

  • Positive Conservatory Ambassador with outside vendors and guests

  • Knowledge of Music, Dance, and Theater art forms is not required but appreciated.

Anticipated Hiring Range

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.
