Vice President of Student Success
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION/SUMMARY:
Building on six decades of legacy, Randolph Community College (RCC) has announced RCC 2.0 by heightening its Relevance, focusing on Careers, and deepening its Commitment. The 2024-2030 strategic plan reveals The Dawn of a New Era with the introduction of a four-pronged approach: Access, Connections, Experience, and Success (ACES); all applicable to students as well as employees.
As a valued and respected member of the President’s Cabinet, the Vice President of Student Success (VPSS) reports to the President/CEO. The VPSS must be an ethical, talented, growth-minded, impact-oriented, inspiring thinker who loves students with passion. The VPSS is committed to being a champion of RCC’s mission and values and will set a leadership example that promotes a welcoming, collegial atmosphere, innovative collaboration, high morale, and superior, comprehensive services to all students.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS
Required:
- Doctoral degree strongly preferred but will consider master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- 10 years of progressively responsible, innovative, dynamic, student affairs leadership, including 7 years of multi-functional supervision in planning, financial resource and personnel management, student information systems, and program development required.
- Must believe in a One College model with compassion for ALL students and working with ALL faculty, staff, and administrators.
- Open to change; demonstrated willingness and ability to inspire others to transform and further the mission of the college.
Preferred:
- Experience in the North Carolina system of higher education.
- Demonstrated community and professional services at local and national levels.
- Familiarity with legal issues in higher education.
DUTIES:
- Serve as the Chief Student Success Officer and advise the President of the College on matters related to Student Success.
- Shape an engaging student experience in all areas of Student Success by providing leadership and oversight for the development, management, assessment, and quality improvement including: student recruitment and retention; enrollment management; admissions; placement/testing; orientation; registration and records; financial aid; student activities and organizations; career development; counseling; due process Title IX, Veteran’s Affairs; the Success Center; and the Information Center.
- Implement and maintain policies and procedures that ensure legal compliance with FERPA, Title IX, etc.; facilitate due process procedures to ensure an environment conducive to the educational process.
- Develop and administer the Student Success annual budget and oversees fiscal management and strategic planning to include external grants.
- Provide executive oversight to college-wide initiatives, leading projects to enhance the student experience, increase enrollment and student success, invigorate student engagement, and drive continuous improvement through data-informed decision-making, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and institutional pride.
- Lead by example to promote positivity, growth mindset, personal and professional ethics, and respect for human dignity.
