One Year Visiting Assistant Professor in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies (WGSS), 2025-2026 academic year
The Dickinson College Department of Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) seeks a one year Visiting Assistant Professor of WGSS, starting in the fall semester of 2025.
We seek a dynamic and dedicated candidate with a Ph.D. in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies (ABD may be considered). Applicants with a PhD in related disciplines or interdisciplinary fields with strong training and teaching experience in intersectional gender studies will also be considered.
This position entails teaching five courses throughout the year. Ability to teach introductory and core courses in women’s, gender and sexuality studies required, including our Introduction to WGSS (100) and our core course in Feminist Perspectives and Theories (300). Capacity to teach Introduction to Sexuality Studies (208) is also preferred. Candidate will also teach one to two elective courses in their field of expertise. Areas of specialization are open, but courses emphasizing the following approaches are highly desirable: transnational and global perspectives; critical race feminisms; indigenous feminisms; transgender and QLGBT perspectives; critical science and health studies.
A strong commitment to excellence in teaching within a liberal arts college setting is crucial for this position.
